Yesterday Rosa, at the reference desk, submitted his page to Carpool to the Coast, the board Bram pinned up last week. Here is the request as it reaches him. Gus Ferreira lives in Port Ellery and keeps a personal page at gus-ferreira.example. It carries a kindling-noindex directive: “do not include me in any Pool” (§2.7). The spec lets a page say it as an h-card class, a meta tag or a robots-style signal. Gus uses the class.

Read from all seven board files as they stand today. A compliant Pool, parser or registry leaves him off everywhere (§11.3).

Noindex isn’t a privacy setting for inside a board. It means no board at all. Someone who wants to be on a board that only its members can find says yes to a board whose visibility is unlisted or invite-only.

It’s a polite signal. Tools that ignore it end up on block lists. The Kindling public list names scrapekit/0.3: “Ignores kindling-noindex and robots signals.”
